GridDeed is an Android application for writing, reading and checking
metes-and-bounds legal descriptions. It is published by
GridPoint Digital LLC (“we”), and this policy
explains what the app does with your information. It is short because the app
does very little with it.
GridDeed does not collect, transmit or share any personal
information. Everything you enter stays on your own phone.
This policy covers the GridDeed mobile application only. Use of the
gridpointdigital.com website is covered by the website’s own privacy
policy.
What the app stores, and where
When you save a description, a set of courses, or a draft, the app writes it
to its own private storage area on your device. On Android, that area belongs
to the app alone: other applications cannot read it, and it is removed when you
uninstall GridDeed.
This information is never sent anywhere. It is not backed up to any server
run by GridPoint Digital LLC, because there is no such server.
The material stored this way is whatever you choose to put in —
typically the text of a legal description, bearings, distances, curve data, and
any name you give a saved record.
The app has no internet access
The published version of GridDeed does not request the Android
internet permission. It is not technically capable of sending your data
anywhere, to us or to anyone else, whatever it might otherwise be asked to do.
There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no way to use the app that
identifies you.
What the app does not do
- It does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or any other
contact details. - It does not collect or request location data. Bearings and coordinates you
type are treated as ordinary text and geometry; the app never reads the
device’s GPS. - It contains no analytics, crash reporting, tracking or advertising of any
kind, and no third-party software development kits that perform them. - It does not use cookies or any similar identifier.
- It does not sell or share information with anyone, because it holds none.
Sharing and exporting, when you ask for it
The app can export a point file or a finished description and hand it to
Android’s standard share sheet, so you can put it in an email, a
messaging app, a cloud folder or a file on your device.
That happens only when you tap the share or export control, and you choose
the destination yourself. Once the information reaches whatever application you
picked, it is covered by that application’s privacy policy rather than
this one. GridPoint Digital LLC is not involved in the transfer and receives no
copy.
Children
GridDeed is a professional tool for surveyors, title companies and
attorneys. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect
information from anyone, of any age.
Your control over your information
Everything is on your device, so you control all of it:
- Delete an individual saved record from inside the app.
- Clear everything at once through Android’s Settings ›
Apps › GridDeed › Storage › Clear storage. - Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
Because GridPoint Digital LLC never receives your information, there is
nothing held elsewhere for you to request, correct or have erased.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy will
be updated here and the date at the top will change. Any future version that
collected information would say so plainly, and would ask for your permission
first.
